Early in my professional career as a CPA I recognized that there were many experts that a client needed to call upon in order to make informed business decisions.  Clients came to me for professional referrals and it became a trial and error process to match other subject matter experts with a client’s need.  Over time the referral list became a stable of trusted advisors who understood that they fit into an overall plan for the benefit of the client.

In the early 1980’s the CFP® profession came into being with a goal of training client advocates to understand a client’s needs on a macro scale.  They developed a training and certification program that gave these professionals a strong understanding of the various disciplines that filled client needs. The CFP’s® acted as the one advisor who kept the client goals clearly in sight and kept the various professional advisors working in collaboration for the benefit of the client according to a plan and a process.

Today as we see the tide of Baby Boomer business owners arrive at the shores of retirement, they face the same obstacles as the individuals did in the 1980’s.  How can they limit the trial and error process of finding qualified professional advisors who understand the exit planning process and the subject matter experts that won’t derail the process?

Certified Business Exit Consultants® fill that need today for businesses in the same way that the CFP® profession has filled the need for individuals since the 1980’s.  My unique career as a CPA, a CFO of a public company with foreign subsidiaries, a CFP® and as an entrepreneur has provided me with an understanding of the business drivers that build value and what it takes to monetize that value.

This is my passion and my focus and the why for Be Ready Business Exit Solutions.
